End of Life

Many people have questions about the process of euthanasia. We always try to make this difficult time as easy as possible for both you and your pet. We will do our best to honor your wishes regarding every aspect of the euthanasia process. You are welcome to be with your pet and you can stay as long as you want afterwards. Please be sure to let us know if there is anything that we can do to make things better for you.

Anxious pets are given a sedative shortly after they arrive. This helps to reduce any pain and anxiety they may be experiencing. Many times, we will place an IV catheter so that we have a secure and painless access for the euthanasia solution. The euthanasia solution itself is a general anesthetic, causing rapid and peaceful sleep. The high dose of anesthetic then causes the heart to stop.

We offer pet cremation which can be either communal cremation or private cremation. If you elect private cremation, your pet's ashes will be returned to you from our professional pet crematory.  You also have the option of selecting a special urn.  Just ask us to view the book of special urns.

We are always available to help you through this process. We can help you in assessing your pet's quality of life and determining when it is time to say goodbye.

Please call if you have any questions about any aspect of the euthanasia process.
